Dr. Darwish is the founder of Kansas City Kidney Specialists, He holds certifications with the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Nephrology. Dr. Darwish concluded his internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, in 2006. He completed his nephrology fellowship in 2013 at the University of Alabama- Birmingham.
Dr. Darwish served as the Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine, at the University of Missouri in Kansas City From 2007- 2011. He has treated patients in his independent nephrology practice since 2013
Dr. Richard Capling grew up in Lenexa, KS and graduated from Kansas University with a degree in chemistry and biochemistry. He completed his post-graduate education at St. Louis University. After his fellowship in Nephrology was completed, he joined the United States Airforce. During active duty, he became Board certified in Nephrology, a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He received the Exceptional Performance Award and the Meritorious Service Medal. He was honorably discharged after serving as the Chief of Nephrology at the rank of Major.
Dr. Capling joined Kansas City Kidney Specialists in 2019 where he provides nephrology care and general internal medicine needs. He has served as assistant professor of medicine at the University of Missouri, past president and board member of the National Kidney Foundation, Medical Director of several dialysis facilities, and member of the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation, the American College of Physicians, and the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology. He has also authored and co-authored several medical publications and serves as an expert witness in medical litigation cases.
Dr. Capling and his wife Amy have three children and reside in Overland Park. He loves spending time with his family, exercising, participating in triathlons, and playing golf.
